Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding the Naval Yard shooting last week, residents from the greater Washington D.C. area put on a grand display of resilience and fortitude during Sneaker Con this past Saturday. Tickets first sold out earlier in the week, but with a line that circled 3 city blocks in the hours before the event, venue management re-verified space capacity to allow more people in. This made Sneaker Con Washington D.C. the largest Sneaker Con since its inception. It was truly a family affair as well, with plenty of “sneaker parents” checking out festivities and “sneaker moms” pushing strollers along the aisle, hunting for that great bargain or collectable. After this successful first stop on the Sneaker Con Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Tour, the event will disembark for Miami once again on October 5th.
