“Art Wars” Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery Featuring Damien Hirst, Andrew Ainsworth, and More

By - October 7th, 2013

A new exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery appears to be transported from a galaxy far, far away. Dubbed “Art Wars,” the project was developed by Art Below founder Ben Moore and Andrew Ainsworth, the original creator of the Stormtrooper. The exhibition features a collection of custom Stormtrooper helmets, designed by notable names from the world of modern art. The contributors are made up of Andrew Ainsworth, David Bailey, Mr Brainwash, Jason Brooks, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Mat Collishaw, Oliver Clegg, D*Face, Matt Farina, Paul Fryer, Damien Hirst, Inkie, Alison Jackson, Hayden Kays, Antony Micallef, Ben Moore, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Bran Symondson and Joana Vasconcelos. (A selection of the helmets will go up for auction at Christie’s in February of next year, with proceeds going to the Missing Tom Fund, set up to help in the search for Ben Moore’s brother Tom, who has been missing for over a decade.) Art Wars will be unveiled at the inaugural STRARTA Art Fair, part of the curated spaces program on the top floor of the Saatchi Gallery in London. The exhibition will be open from October 9th through October 13th.
