Yohji Yamamoto's design talents are set to evoke good vibes from the soccer gods in this new, limited edition release of the adidas adizero f50. In an attempt to fuse the present with the past, the cleats display a pair of imperial lion-dogs, symbols from Japan's ancient culture that were responsible for guarding the emperors. According to Yohji Yamamoto, “My inspiration is a mixture of ancient traditions and modern sci-fi from Japanese culture. I hope the inspiration of the shoe harmonizes the players and gives them extra confidence to express themselves without any fear. People should feel free to express themselves. Just follow your own instinct.”
From David Alaba of FC Bayern Munich to Naohiro Ishikawa of FC Tokyo, soccer players across the globe plan to sport the adidas adizero f50 with zeal, hoping that their fashion forward sense of style earns them the one-up they need to win. Game on.
