In their twelfth year making music together, The Killers decided it was about time to take a look back on their illustrious careers and release a compilation of singles titled Direct Hits on November 11th. As an added bonus fans who purchase the release will be treated to two brand-new tracks. The first, Shot At the Night is a synth-pop production lead by none other than M83, was released in mid-September. The second is a Calvin Harris remix of one of the most coveted tracks in their canon, 'When You Were Young.'
Harris has been working the EDM summer circuit and it's surprising that it took this long to lay down some Killers vocals over an electro beat. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Harris expressed that, "It was a real honor to be asked to remix one of my favorite modern bands, and it was an exciting challenge for me to update this classic track for the dancefloor in a tasteful and respectful way."
Take a listen to the updated ballad below, Flowers' vocals seem to sync with the pulsating beat just as fluidly as a solid riff.
