The latest installment of Nike’s Inside Access opens the doors to the creative process of the group’s lead designers.
Footwear Design Director Leo Chang has 12 years of experience at the Swoosh under his belt, and his stint at Nike Basketball began in 2007, when he was charged with Kevin Durant’s signature footwear line. Nike Basketball’s Apparel Design Director Ryan Aanderud leads a team responsible for a variety of different projects, including collegiate uniforms, outdoor apparel, and signature products for Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James. New materials and fabrications are the team’s stock in trade, exemplified by Senior Designer Michelle Walter, who’s worked closely with Kobe Bryant over the past eight years. Finally, Hrag Nassanian, Senior Bags Designer, conceptualizes the industry’s best bags by working closely with the likes of Bryant, Durant and James, with form and function acting as the mantra of Nassanian’s design philosophy.
