For Japanese designer and entrepreneur Noriaki Endo, the date “November 11” signified many important moments. It was on November 11, 1996, that the then 25-year-old Endo established DEVILOCK, one of the first fashion entity in Japan that crossed into streetwear, graffiti, DJ culture, death metal rock, hip-hop, and mixed martial arts. 15 years later on November 11, 2011, Endo decided to end the entire venture and dissolve the DEVILOCK enterprise. Today, on November 11 once again, Endo will mark a new chapter in his life with the launch of The Wild One: Around US Running.
More of a spiritual journey on a personal scale, Endo is set to run around the United States starting in 2014. This will not be an across-the-country endeavor such as New York to Los Angeles. Instead, Endo will circumvent Middle America and travel across the bordering states on foot. Split into four phases, the 18,800 km (or 11,682 miles) journey starts on January 20, 2014 in San Diego, California. If everything goes accordingly, Endo will return to San Diego two years later on January 20, 2016. See The Wild One: Around US Running for more details.
