New Era Spring 2014 Collection Preview Party | Event Recap

Vacated a few years ago when St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral School shuttered for good, the modest brick building in New York City’s NoLIta neighborhood is now a meeting hall for local Alcoholic Anonymous and other non-for-profit organizations. Yet, school was in session once again last week as New Era hosted a preview party for its Spring 2014 Collection.

Among the chalkboard murals by street artist FAUST, hors d’œuvre on school lunch trays, and beer bong at the ready, folks from New Era showcased some of the key headwear available in the new year. Team affiliated goods have always been New Era’s best sellers, so designers decided to add twists to the classic 59FIFTY Fitted silhouette. Aside from the 9FIFTY Snapback and the more casual 9FORTY design, expect additions like 6-panel camp cap and trucker hat to go on sale next season. Along side the typical wool, cotton, or nylon mesh, New Era will be trying out some new fabric as well, including one derived from traditional football mesh jersey. Still, the most noticeable items on display were those inspired by popular sneakers. The ideal complement to anyone’s kicks collection, the limited edition line features the unmistakable safari print pattern, gradient design found on AM95, Supreme collab, and more…

Expect some of the designs seen here to be available at the start of 2014, with a few special collections to launch around 2014 NBA All-Star Game on February 16.
