When Black Scale launched in 2007, founders Michael “Mega” Yabut and Alfred De Tagle had their eyes on the prize, even as the fledgling brand’s initial offerings consisted of little more than a few T-shirts with sinister design overtones. Now, with the brand set to launch its Holiday 2013 range — fittingly titled “Ascencion” — the corresponding lookbook reveals the most fully realized collection yet. All the hallmarks of the L.A.-based label are there — complete with tees and hoodies adorned with iconoclastic imagery and vague associations with the occult — but there are also a camo-covered shawl collar cardigan and quality outerwear pieces.
