Phantom, Falcon, Jet, Black Hawk, Raptor... each not just a term for bird of prey or aeronautical marvel but for upcoming footwear models from BRANDBLACK. Established by David Raysse, a footwear industry veteran who once headed adidas Performance and Fila at one time, BRANDBLACK is looking to address the "missing pieces" in the marketplace, a design concept versatile enough to fill the needs of a streetballers or one going out for casual dining with friends. Based in Los Angeles, Raysse borrows the region's rich aeronautical history, such as NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena and Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works Program out in Palmdale, mixing those into his silhouettes. One of the results is the BRANDBLACK Raptor.
In either as mid-cut or low, BRANDBLACK Raptor bears a similarity to hiking boots from one aspect and high performance basketball sneaker from another. Comes in a range of colors and materials, both high and low, as well as the rest of the BRANDBLACK line, are set to be available around next year's NBA All-Star Game.
