In a teeming metropolis like New York City, FOMO (aka Fear Of Missing Out) is always a clear and present danger. Clearly, the concept is an unwinnable one, as a preoccupation with the next often precludes the enjoyment of the here and now. However, this past Saturday offered a clear cut solution to the syndrome, as the thousands of sneaker enthusiasts who attended Sneaker Con NYC weren’t worrying about missing out on anything sneaker-related. Instead, the action was right there, within the walls of the massive Basketball City venue. Thousands of attendees not only bought, sold and traded a multitude of rare and valuable kicks, but they also enjoyed a range of vendors offering shoe cleaning kits, customized socks and vintage apparel. In the end, it all revolved around sneakers, and if you did indeed miss out, the next best thing is to check out the extensive recap in the gallery below.
