In between their own respective brands, creative minds like Jeff Staple of Staple, Keith Hufnagel of HUF, Michael “Mega” Yabut of Black Scale, Scott Sasso of 10.DEEP have looked for ways to give back to their supporters. And in the past few months or so, this quartet of streetwear influencers worked together tirelessly on special project in the support of Art Start, a charity that helps marginalized young artists in New York City. The result is this collaborative collection seen here.
Dubbed simply as Staple x HUF x Black Scale x 10.DEEP, the collection consists of the Art Start Varsity Jacket and the Art Start Snapback Cap. Made with Melton Wool, PU leather sleves, and satin quilted lining. Quipped with chenille patches of the four brands involved, there is also a printed mission statement on the jacket’s interior tag. The same set-up is on the Art Start Snapback Cap as well. Made by Mitchell & Ness, the cap features a Melton Wool crown and PU textured leather brim. Surrounded by chenille patches of the four brands once again, the front panel features a chain stitch embroidery of the statement “The Youth Shall Inherit The Earth”.
Set at a retail price of $224 USD for the varsity jacket and $42 USD for the snapback cap, 100% of proceeds from the limited, two-piece collection will go to benefit Art Start. In his statement, Jeff Staple added, “This collaboration was brought to life through a simple conversation that started with three other designers that I greatly respect. We not only represent both coastlines of America, but also represent the many facets of street culture. We are constantly inspired by these streets and wanted to find a way to give back by supporting Art Start, an organization that we greatly admire for their tireless efforts.” Look for the collection to be available this coming Black Friday, November 29, at select retailers nationwide.
