Whereas the Dubai’s police force operates the world’s most expensive vehicle fleet, the German Federal Police might still have the title as the world’s fastest, including the 2011 Audi R8 GTR Polizei by tuner Abt. As a part of the annual Tune It! Safe! government campaign to promote safe driving habit, BMW took its turn this year to create its own special police car. Based on the all-new 428i coupe, BMW tuning specialists from AC Schnitzer upped the original 2.8-liter engine to an output of 294 horsepower. With the addition of a sporty front and rear spoilers, a set of Type VIII Lightweight Forged Wheels wheels and racing suspension also by AC Schnitzer, the end product can dash from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. First unveiled at the 2013 Essen Motor Show earlier this month, the BMW 428i Coupe Polizei will be joining the rest of the Tune It! Safe! fleet earlier next year.
