They’ve got pool tables, free meals, and nap rooms, so why would Google executives have to suffer the extreme inconvenience of having to travel to a regular airport? Well, consider that another problem solved by the dominating internet company, who just broke ground on an exclusive airport for Google employees that will feature approximately 270,000 sq-ft of hangar space for corporate jets on the 29-acre site. Private aviation firm Signature Flight Support has a 50-year lease on the facility, which will be located at San Jose Airport, which is effectively handing over a big part of the city airport to the tech firm that is rumored to cost $82 million to create. Google’s hangars will join Hewlett Packard’s on the site and will also be opened to “other figures in the Silicon Valley business community.”
