If for some reason you're just now waking up to the fact that today is the kick-off of one of the car world's most exciting events, the 2014 North American International Auto Show over in Detroit, then you better get up to speed as it's going to be all cars, cars, cars this week. We kick of today's coverage with a look at what the team from Audi shipped over to the States, the new Allroad Shooting Brake Concept, which is slated to be the upcoming third generation TT. Its body looks every inch its length, but the 19-inch alloy wheels and its 3,527lb body weight also make for a stocky look, even with an aluminum/carbon fiber body. Under the hood, Audi strapped in a transverse-mounted 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 292 HP and 280 lb-f) of torque that is connected to an electric motor that provides an additional 54 HP and 29 lb-ft. The engine is connected to the e-S tronic six-speed gearbox. Not enough? Well, there's a second electric motor installed on the rear axle which offers 155 HP and 199 lb-ft of torque for a combined 408hp. While the 0-62mph time is 4.6seconds, the mpg's are more impressive, standing at 123mph. With a resume like this, you can bet you'll be seeing a lot more of this Audi.
