Making its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show is the Mercedes-Benz S600, representing the top-of-the-line model from Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle packs a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine good for 523 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. Standard features include Magic Ride Control suspension, which provides a smooth ride, and a Driving Assistance Package that bundles a series of safety functions: lane-departure prevention, Active Blind Spot Assist, adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous steering, and a pedestrian-detection braking system. Inside the luxuriously appointed cabin, new technology takes the form of a standard heads-up display that features data like speed, navigation directions and more on the windshield, as well as a new touchpad that allows the written input of letters, numbers and special characters for control of the multimedia system. The S600 goes on sale in the U.S. this spring.
