Balmain‘s creative director Olivier Rousteing infused jungle elements to the brand’s rock-star aesthetic for Fall/Winter 2014, showing off animal prints on boots, rider jackets and varsity jackets. They were were worn with drop-crotch cargo pants, sometimes finished in camouflage. Balmain’s ever-present military influence was reinforced with a color palette dominated by olive green, seen on a new take on a blouson crafted from soft leather. Elsewhere, the re-made safari jacket appeared in a handwoven chunky cord material. Other standouts included shawl-collared sports jackets in single or double-breasted styles, finished with metal buttons and occasionally with a full complement of military patches.
