Conventionally, solar panels have been flat and usually rectangular. Andre Broessel, a German acrhitect living in Barcelona, is about to change all of this with this new spherical solar charger invented by Rawlemon. In essence, traditional solar panels are not able to extract energy from the sun efficiently, but this new design should be able to yield 70% more than the flat panels. A combination of spherical geometry principals and dual axis tracking system allows for optimum performance. Furthermore, this design reduces cell surface to 1%, offering a revolutionary method of producing sustainable and low cost energy. Rawlemon is looking for funding on Indiegogo right now, so why not contribute to a great cause. For more information, watch their informative video.
