Those in attendance at Thom Browne‘s Fall/Winter 2014 Paris runway show were treated to a grey tweed menagerie, in which the models traversed a faux Japanese garden wearing variations of wool flannel suits in the American designer’s signature grey. Some of the suits were paired with shorts, others with kilts, but all were topped with some sort of animal-inspired headwear, including deer antlers, rabbit ears and wire elephant heads. The varied representations of wildlife were matched by various traditional menswear checks and patterns, while exposed hems and raw edges added to the unique looks. The second half of the show did away with the animal theme in favor of sumo proportions, wherein the wild, outsized patterns were matched by the outsized silhouettes.
