Beats Music has officially thrown its hat in the already crowded music-streaming ring, featuring an emphasis on curated curated programming from a range of “tastemakers,” including Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre, Luke Wood, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, and Ian Rogers. The on-demand music service — an offshoot of Beats Electronics, responsible for the massively successful Beats headphones — is available for all platforms. Features include Just for You, which selects the right songs at the right time based on users’ preferences, as well as the time of day, possible activities, and other contextual clues. An enhanced search function allows users to find playlists and individual songs by genre, activity, or curator. The service costs $10 a month (AT&T customers can sign up to five people for $15 per month). Go here for more info.
