Born out of a partnership forged with the Lotus F1 Team last year, this Richard Mille RM 50-01 is named for one of the team drivers, Romain Grosjean. The case is created from carbon NTPT, which is composed of more than 600 layers of woven carbon filaments 30 microns thick that are compressed and heated, resulting in superior levels of strength and rigidity. The piece comes with a choice of caseband in 5N red gold or carbon NTPT, with the colors reflecting the Lotus F1 Team. Features include a function indicator at 4 o'clock, indicating whether the movement is in Winding, Neutral or Handsetting mode, as well as the mechanical G-force sensor gauge along the upper part of the dial. Inside, the watch features a manual winding tourbillon chronograph caliber. Limited to 30 watches, each comes with a hand crafted 1/5th scale model of the 2014 Lotus F1 racing car.
