Are toys works of art? That is the question put forth by the latest exhibition at Design Exchange in Toronto. Held inside Canada’s Design Museum, this provocative exhibition was curated by John Wee Tom and DX Associate Curator Sara Nickleson, with a helping hand from guest curator Pharrell Williams. Inside the vast gallery space, the open layout plays home to some of the world’s most sought-after toys and figurines. Names such as Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Frank Kozik, Yoshitomo Nara, Coarse, Huck Gee, and FriendsWithYou should be enough to get viewers’ attention. If you are in Toronto, take the time to visit the museum before the exhibition ends on Monday, May 19.
