Originally made for Blake Edwards’ comedic film series with the same name, the animated version of the Pink Panther became so popular, especially with the younger audience members, that the movie studio United Artists spurn off the caricature’s first animated short in 1964 titled The Pink Phink. To the surprise of many, the film went on to win the 1964 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film and helped to immortalize the pink feline. Now 50 years later, James Jebbia and his team of designers at Supreme are ready to re-introduce the sly mime to a new generation of audience with their Supreme x Pink Panther – Capsule Collection. Available in the forms of cotton sweater, stripe tee, short sleeve henley, denim shirt and pins, all to feature cat in a suave form, with walking cane, fedora and cigarette. No release date is set at this time but the first delivery of the Supreme Spring/Summer 2014 Collection will be available this Thursday, February 20, via its stores around the globe.
