Nominated last year for the “Outstanding Pastry Chef” award by the prestigious James Beard Foundation, French pastry chef Dominique Ansel just created another hybrid dessert. Best known worldwide for his Cronut (a mix between croissant and doughnut), Fronzen S'More, and the "Cronut Hole Concrete" collab with Shake Shack, New York City-based Ansel fused two favorite pre-bedtime snacks - chocolate chip cookie and milk - into one. Dubbed "Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots," the inspiration came about a few weeks ago when the curious chief tried Oreo cookies for the first time. When told he should eat it with a glass milk, the chef thought of combining the two instead. With the right consistency to hold milk, the shot glass-shaped cookies will "stayed crispy and moist in parts." Scheduled to be available at the 2014 South By Southwest (SXSW) festival this month, the delicious combo make its debut at the PR firm Allison + Partners' "Cronut at Midnight" event this coming Sunday. There are also talks of making them available later this year at Ansel's bakery on Spring Street in SoHo.
