It all started with Nike Skateboarding designer James Arizumi and his penchant to think outside of the shoe box, literally. The result was the 2007 “What The Dunk” and the start of the “What The…” series from Nike. Both an oddity and a phenomenon within the sneaker culture, Arizumi stated that his concept was to “Respect the Past” and “Embrace the Future”. The same thinking resonates with the new “What The LeBron 11” from Nike Basketball as well. A remix of eight design elements from LeBron James' past signature footwear, the “What The LeBron 11” carries forward James’ legacy with some 20 different graphical representations along with a kaleidoscope of colors. In all, you will find nearly 28 designs, from LeBron VII’s unique tongue design to LeBron V’s homage to Akron, all along the “What The LeBron 11”.
The Nike “What The LeBron 11” will be available starting on Saturday, May 31st, via Nike and Nike Basketball retailers worldwide. Because of demand and quantity, availability will be limited so mark your calendar today or you going to miss out.
