Supreme Teams Up With Brooks Brothers for Spring 2014 Collection

By - April 10th, 2014

It outfitted US Presidents, foreign dignitaries and tycoons during the last 195 years. Now, Brooks Brothers will be bring its suit-making expertise to hustling and bustling world of street fashion thanks in part to Supreme. To be available sometime next week, the Brooks Brothers x Supreme collaboration will feature a full matching outfit of blazer and pants. Based on Brooks Brothers’ Fitzgerald Fit, the suit will be made of seersucker fabric and includes a black-and-white star print. According to Glen Hoffs, the fashion director at Brooks Brothers, Supreme approached the clothier about six months ago. The pair exchanged several ideas and samples before the final designs, which are made at a Brooks Brothers facility. In an interview with WWD, Glen Hoffs, the fashion director at Brooks Brothers, added “Supreme was looking for something that was iconic to Brooks Brothers and they thought that their customers were sophisticated enough for a nice suit.”

Though on the opposite of the fashion spectrum, neither labels are strangers to collaborations – Brooks is currently working with designer Thom Browne on its Black Fleece brand while Supreme introduced its first suit back in 2011 with Adam Kimmel. It will be interesting to see how these two storied New York icons reinterpret a staple of men’s fashion once again…
