HBO Transforms Game of Thrones Tweets Into a Digital Iron Throne

Earlier this month, HBO aired the season 4 premier of its hit series Game of Thrones, marking the most “social” HBO original series debut ever. Six million people saw a tweet referencing the episode, and there were more than ten GoT-related hashtags trending on Twitter worldwide. The network itself has gotten in on the act, promoting the hashtag #TakeTheThrone, which fans can use on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win a trip to San Diego this July, where they’ll sit on the real Iron Throne at Comic-Con. Additionally, HBO and 360i have set up a digital throne entirely made up of fans’ “sacrificed social claims.” Check out the 3D interactive model here, and contribute your own words, where it will “forever be immortalized in the seat of the Seven Kingdoms.”
