At this year’s Beijing Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz is poised to shake-up the SUV line with the introduction of their new Concept Coupe SUV with equal parts style and utility. To be known as the MLC once on the market, the new design is a mix of coupe and SUV styling, with a dramatically curved roof that fades back to the rear hatch while at the same time it holds an overall high ride height. For the concept, MB also uses 21-inch wheels and includes other high-tech features like LED headlights, turn-direction signals, and a new twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 engine with 333 horses and 354 lb-ft of torque under the hood. The system is also connected to MB’s 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. MB used the release as an opportunity to note that this is a veiled preview of the future of their SUV’s into a more uniform family of vehicles. It’s not tough to read between the lines on that one; in other words, expect more long, curvy SUV’s to come.
