Graphic designer and artist” target=”_blank”>Ash Thorp teamed up with photographer Tim Tadder and over 20 artists to create” target=”_blank”>Project 2501, an homage to Ghost in the Shell. As fans of the seminal cyberpunk franchise know, the title started in 1989 as a manga series written and illustrated by Shirow Masamune, followed by a 1995 film adaptation by Mamoru Oshii. The opening sequence of the film was recreated by Ash Thorpe and his Project 2501 team through a series of stills, featuring series protagonist Motoko Kusanagi’s birth in a real-life environment.
