Project 2501   Homage to Ghost in the Shell

Graphic designer and artist Ash Thorp teamed up with photographer Tim Tadder and over 20 artists to create Project 2501, an homage to Ghost in the Shell. As fans of the seminal cyberpunk franchise know, the title started in 1989 as a manga series written and illustrated by Shirow Masamune, followed by a 1995 film adaptation by Mamoru Oshii. The opening sequence of the film was recreated by Ash Thorpe and his Project 2501 team through a series of stills, featuring series protagonist Motoko Kusanagi’s birth in a real-life environment.
