MINI has unveiled the five-door version of the Cooper that was all-new for 2014, the F56 3-door model. To compensate for the extra set of doors, the car’s wheelbase has been expanded by 2.8 inches to add more leg room in the back, while the body is taller and six inches longer overall. In terms of engine options, there’s the base model, packing a 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder engine with 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, as well as the Cooper S, which gets a 2.0-liter turbo four with 189 hp and 207 lb-ft. (Diesel options will be exclusive to Europe.) Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available for both, and the Cooper S automatic will sprint to 60 in just 6.5 seconds. The 2015 Mini Hardtop 5 door is set to hit showrooms in the fall.
