The Sony PlayStation TV is the latest entrant in the streaming device space, joining the likes of the Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. The major difference here is that the emphasis is on games, with the PlayStation TV’s available library of titles spanning several different platforms: the PS Vita, PSP, PS One, PS3 (via PS Now’s cloud streaming), as well as PS4 over Remote Play. Both DualShock 3 and DualShock 4 controllers work with the PlayStation TV and up to two controllers can be connected at once. Additionally, the console lets users stream music, TV and film content, though Sony is mum for now as to what third-party streaming-video apps the device will feature, if any. In terms of specs, there’s a Cortex A9 processor and 1GB of internal storage under the hood, and hardware features include Ethernet, USB 2.0 and HDMI ports. You can pre-order the device now through Amazon.
