Sneaker Freaker has teamed up with Nike to produce a hardcover compendium celebrating the Swoosh’s history of footwear design. Entitled the Genealogy of Innovation, the retrospective clocks in at 240-plus pages, beginning in 1971 with the release of the first Nike shoe to carry a Swoosh. From there, the book takes the reader on an in-depth study of 200 game-changing Nike shoes and football boots, including the Magista and Mercurial Superfly. Extensive interviews with Nike designers, including Tinker Hatfield, Martin Lotti and Denis Dekovic, offer an inside look at how these innovative projects go from the design lab to the factory. Sadly, the book isn’t available for purchase, but you can go here and sign up for a chance to win one of ten giveaway copies.
