Representing the latest addition to Nvidia‘s Shield gaming platform, the Shield Tablet is the world’s first Android tablet made specifically for games. The device is powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and runs stock 4.4 Kitkat. It features an 8-inch 1080p display, front-facing speakers, front- and rear-facing 5MP cameras, and a Micro SD expansion slot for increasing storage up to 128GB. While a stylus is included, players can opt for “console mode,” in which the tablet streams out to your TV via HDMI cable; alternatively, you can use GameStream to stream games from your computer. A new Shield controller — sold separately — connects through WiFi Direct for lower latency than Bluetooth. Pre-order the Shield Tablet now, directly from Nvidia.
