When Microsoft suddenly announced the closure of Xbox Entertainment Studios earlier this month, many thought the software giant would also end the development of Halo: Nightfall, its live-action series based on the popular gaming franchise. Thankfully, that won’t be the case as the Redmond-based company unveiled the first teaser for the sci-fi thriller during this week’s Comic-Con International: San Diego.
Set after the event of Halo 4, Halo: Nightfall follows Jameson Locke (Mike Colter), a cybernetically enhanced super soldier known as Spartan, and events leading up to the Halo 5: Guardians, the gaming franchise’s upcoming title. Produced by Hollywood icons Ridley Scott and David Zucker, with director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who also directed episodes of Battlestar Galactica, Prison Break, Falling Skies and more, the Halo: Nightfall series will likely to be release later this year.
