Fall 2014 sees the return of two iconic http://nike.com/” target=”_blank”>Nike silhouettes, both featuring groundbreaking design born in the early ’90s and inspired by the functionality of South American sandals and the fit of neoprene waterski boots. The concept behind Nike Huarache, as conceived by Tinker Hatfield and a young Eric Avar, was to give athletes exactly what they needed to perform and nothing more, which meant crafting an innovative neoprene innersleeve coupled with a leather exoskeleton. The absence of a trademark Swoosh would emphasize the less-is-more approach. The Air Flight Huarache basketball shoe was the initial release, followed by the Air Huarache Trainer, featuring a large midfoot mesh strap for a lockdown fit. Coming in OG colorways, the Nike Air Flight Huarache lands in stores August 8th, followed by the launch of the Air Flight Huarache on September 26.
