Nike spared no expense during the recent Kobe Bryant China Tour, his ninth and maybe last as a profession basketball player. During the tour’s Shanghai leg, the shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers welcomed guests to the House of Mamba with the world’s first full-sized LED basketball court. Laminated with LED display panels, the court visualize each player’s location on the court with motion-tracking arm band, just like the Game Grid scene in the sci-fi movie TRON and TRON: Legacy. Furthermore, the real-time animation and video will guide, train, even challenge players through various drills based on Bryant’s own playbook. Part of Nike’s RISE basketball initiative, the high-tech facility will help to shape 30 of China’s top players to reach the next level.
