Like most of us, http://baronvonbrunk.com/” target=”_blank”>Julius von Brunk simply couldn’t wait for the next installment of http://starwars.com” target=”_blank”>Star Wars to arrive in 2015. So the New York City-based http://lego.com” target=”_blank”>LEGO meister actualized it the best way he knows how via LEGO building blocks. The result is this life-size DL-44 Blaster concept, Han Solo’s weapon of choice. Using the LEGO Digital Designer program to model the blaster first, von Brunk used over 400 LEGO bricks in the final mock-up. In addition to its functional trigger, the blaster comes to life with lights and sounds thanks to an on-board Arduino Uno unit. Best of all, you can try your hands in building one thanks largely to http://instructables.com/id/Electronic-LEGO-DL-44-Blaster-Light-Sound/” target=”_blank”>von Brunk’s detailed tutorial. But for those not savvy enough in DIY projects, von Brunk also submitted the concept to https://ideas.lego.com/projects/76141″ target=”_blank”>LEGO Ideas (formerly LEGO CUUSOO) in the hopes that LEGO will make a https://ideas.lego.com/projects/76141″ target=”_blank”>DL-44 Blaster building set in the near future. You can help with the submission process by signing your name to it. Concepts with 10,000 signatures will go on to the approval process later next year, in the hopes that it will be available during the showing of Star Wars: Episode VII.
