20th Century Fox has dropped the latest trailer for Assassin's Creed, the film adaptation of the popular video game franchise of the same name. For the uninitiated, Michael Fassbender assumes the role of Callum, a career criminal whose memory is unlocked through futuristic technology, whereupon he's able to experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar de Nerha, an assassin in 15th Century Spain. Having discovered that he's a descendant of this secret society, Callum taps his latent fighting skills -- including a proficiency with axes, crossbows, daggers and the like -- to take on the oppressive Templar organization in the present day. Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams and Jeremy Irons also co-star in the film, which hits theaters December 21st.
The film opens December 21st
