Lucasfilm has announced the casting of a key figure in the upcoming standalone Star Wars film centered around a young Han Solo. The role of Han's old friend Lando Calrissian will go to Donald Glover, the renowned writer/actor/comic/rapper who currently stars in the hit FX show Atlanta. Glover will join Alden Ehrenreich, already as cast as Han, in the still-untitled film. Bringing the iconic Star Wars characters back to the big screen, this latest chapter will chronicle Lando and Han during their formative years. Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller offered a joint statement in light of the news. "We're so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," they said. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we'd like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."
