A rare gem from the Nike archive has made its way to eBay. Known as the Nike Moon Shoe, the runner was originally designed by Geoff Hollister, under the direction of Nike co-founder of Bill Bowerman, and worn by marathon runner Bruce Mortenson during the 1972 Olympic Trials. They represent the first ever Waffle Racer made by Nike for use in competition, one of just about 12 produced at the time. The build features an upper made with imported Japanese nylon, complemented with a waffle outsoles hand-cut and stitched in Oregon.
