For this year's Air Max Day "Vote Forward" campaign, Nike invited a select group of 12 "Revolutionairs," made up of artists, designers, DJs, and retailers, to design their own interpretation of classic Nike Air Max silhouettes. Fans were invited to vote on their favorite submission, and Nike has since announced the winning design: an Air Max 97 x Air Max 1 hybrid by Sean Wotherspoon, co-owner of the Round Two vintage store in Los Angeles. The shoe's upper, finished in contrasting bright and somber earth tones, is constructed from corduroy, inspired by vintage Nike hats from the 1980s. Check out an interview with Wotherspoon in the video below, and stay tuned for release details.
