Last July, UNIQLO joined forces with Nintendo to launch a global T-shirt design competition, which ultimately drew 16,000 entries -- the highest amount in the history of the UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) Grand Prix contest. The judging panel, made up of the Nintendo team and Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Zelda, ultimately granted first-place honors to Takashi Kawazoe of Japan. His Mario-themed design earned $10,000, alongside a Nintendo Switch console signed by Shigeru Miyamoto himself.
