After its debut in North America and Japan, the special collaboration between New Balance and NY-base A.R.C. is set to release this Saturday, February 21st. In anticipation of the launch, Taipei’s trend-setting store INVINCIBLE went through a full window treatment, quite literally. Visitors to the store could also view a brief, behind the scene video (shot by Freshness) on the making of each pair.

Nike Singapore will be opening the first Nike flagship store tomorrow, November 28th, in the famed Orchard Road located at Wisma Atria Shopping Centre. The Nike Wisma Atria flagship store will offer exclusive products and services, such as the new NIKEiD Studio.
To kick off the scheduled opening, the store will launch a special collection of Nike Windrunner jackets in Gold and Silver. Playing up the ‘Bling’ factor for the collection, each metallic hue is paired up with 12 pop shades to create unique combination that cater to style-savvy consumers that wish to express their individualism through their selection. These unique Nike Metallic Windrunners will only be available for retail exclusively at the Nike Wisma Atria flagship store in Singapore.

Scheduled to open its door at Noon today, Tokyo time, Nike and its Nike Sportswear division will open its second stand alone flagship, Nike Sportswear Store Tokyo. Constructed out of a network of raw concrete truss and reinforced corrugated steel panels. Conceived by architectural legend Tadao Ando (安藤忠雄), the structure originally housed the temporary store front for Japanese design store, hh style, and designer Giorgio Armani’s Armani Casa label. Its prism-like exterior, clad in black, is the most recognizable building on the Harajuku (原宿) Cat Street promenade, with some liken it to the stealth bomber. The interior is also very distinctive. A spacious maze-like layout straight out of M.C. Escher‘s illustration. Each of the multiple levels showcase a product class of Nike Sportswear and is interconnected with others through a set of staircase. The Nike Sportswear Store Tokyo will feature the NIKEiD Studio, which will provide shoppers exclusive footwear designed by Nike’s long-term creative partners. The flagship will also be the only location in Asia to carry the complete range of Nike Sportswear NSW Collection, in addition Nike products exclusively to this store.

Along with the recent preview of Colette’s collaboration with Oakley, due to launch this month. Colette also revailed this collaboration with ASICS Onitsuka Tiger. Base on the retro appearance of Saiko Runner MT, the Colette edition features an all white backdrop along with that trademark blue, in star shapes and accent portions. Only 100 pairs of this ‘Colette exclusive’ will be available. Following the same concept, the sneakers are accompanied by two other items; a pool bag and a pair of swim goggles.

After nearly a month worth of construction, the Parisian trend-setting boutique Colette finally re-opened its doors Monday, August 25th. Re-drawn by none other than architect Masamichi Katayama (片山 正通), one of the world’s best retail space designer and the founder of design firm Wonderwall. Sections were revamped and displays relocated. The end result is a vast expanse much like a museum or gallery. A clear definition on merchandise categories as well as brands, with each liken to a capsule collection. Similar to other Katayama creations, the new Colette also features plenty of lighting and futuristic glass+aluminum casings. In addition, the boutique is overhauling its online presence, with the recent inclusion of We Sold Out (Sold Out) and soon to launch blog section.

Swedish illustrator/ designer Olle Hemmendorff was commissioned, together with 7 other creatives (Patrik Söderstam, Hanna Wieslander, Marguerite Seger, Jonas Wiehager and Fredrik Skogkvistby) by Nike to interpret a Nike Sportswear icon. Hemmendorff choose Nike Air Max 90 and created a burger sculpture of it.

As the Olympic venues get well underway in the capital city of Beijing, Shanghai’s boutique ACU opened an unique Pop-Up Store on the 4th floor of adidas Brand Center, a special structure diticated to moreover the epic grand-opening of the 2008 Olympics in China. Tom, Director of ACU, invited WHIZ Limited creative head Hiroaki Shitano and director Kazuki, of Soul of Felicity, in creating a special Peking Duck (Kao Ya) tee in reflection of Beijing’s culture, history, and spirit.
The special edition t-shirt, along with the adidas A to Z Consortium Project, are currently available at the adidas Brand Center in Beijing’s Sanlitun Shopping Center and ACU flagship in Shanghai.
