Sure, the puritans may argue that reading has been under-appreciated, but for those of us who do appreciate the likes of Youtube and 3D LED TV, a picture is worth more than a thousand words. So, considering a video is made up of a convoy of pictures, do the math and tell me if taking a quick video tour of history is less painless than going through scrolls of Wikipedia. In this light, go through a swift history of Daft Punk and get to know the electronic duo which has been dominating the spotlight even without revealing their faces for ages, and more recently, for their work with the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster release, TRON: Legacy. From the comic genius of Family Guy and American Dad, Seth MacFarlane brings us the Calvacade of Cartoon Comedy, and to kick things off on Youtube. he had posted a new video, “8 Things You Never Hear” prior to Thanksgiving. Cue comic victims such as Hilary Duff’s short-lived musical career, and surprisingly, LeBron James having a nightmare about switching roles with the Nike LeBron VIII, i.e., James turning into shoes, and the shoe, a basketball king. Sure, the bit about LeBron doesn’t fall into one of the 8 things you never hear, but MacFarlane’s animated interpretation of a heaving James is nothing short of hilarious.

Remember back in 2008, when Dwight Howard lived up to his Superman moniker, traded his team jersey in and donned a cape and Superman jersey to dunk in the NBA All Star Game? Sure, Shaq might not be down with this nickname, but Howard had since then went on to garner other fearsome nicknames, including the recent “Beast From The East” from adidas‘ “Fast Don’t Lie” campaign, designed to celebrate and promote Howard and Derrick Rose’s new kicks, the adidas TS Beast and adiZero Rose respectively. This season, adidas is releasing a special commemorative Superman Edition of the adidas TS Beast to bring back Howard’s nickname.

Sure, the fact that the Kindle is sold out everywhere seems to point to a change in our consumption habits in terms of reading. Books and printed matter have taken a binary form and are now easily compressed into a flat device, and leafing through pages now comprises of pushing a button. But, with the recent burgeon in rallies for a return to more traditional forms of reading with designers and influencers leading the renaissance, books, not e-books seem to be making a comeback. First there was Book Marc by Marc Jacobs, and now, the mastermind of BAPE, NIGO, is joining in the movement with a new pop-up store, NIGOLDEN Book Store, in the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art’s On Sunday space.

The Double Front Logger Pant gets extra rugged with multiple rivets, but otherwise, the collection stays gorgeously muted.

You know that phenomenon where people where mismatched socks or mismatches shoes, and at times, it seems like this trend could reach the tipping point and make it, but nevertheless failed quite wispily, perhaps the new colorways from adidas Originals on one of their strong classics, the Forum Mid, will revive that, especially in light of the upcoming release of TRON: Legacy. While the Forum Mid has seen alterations and adjustments, especially in the adidas ObyO line-up (for instance, Jeremy Scott had tweaked a thing here, a thing there to make the JS Wings and the “Bear”), the original is back in a fresh mix of colorways for Fall/Winter 2010.
