The puffy situation hasn’t been the same for a while now. Ever since Moncler revamped their designs and refreshed the brand with a new photographer (Bruce Weber) and a surge of high-profile collaborations (Pharrell Williams, Comme des Garcons…) the puffer is no longer just a simple hooded affair that is only fit for the streets. Following Moncler’s footsteps, heritage French down company, Pyrenex, has recruited designer Alexis Mabille to reprise the puffer and push the design envelop on the winter staple, formall fit for the slopes and are nothing close to being chic.

As marijuana legalization becomes an actual issue worth consideration rather than a controversy looming in the back that had little chance of being realized (which was what this was a few years ago), the 420 celebration has grown bigger and many labels and artists are quick to pick on the issue and voice their opinions through products and projects. While Snoop Dogg had launched a strange website which lets its users virtually share a joint with Snoop, LRG has released a 420 pack which includes the Hydro Wave Board Short and the “Don’t Harm The Farm Tree” T-Shirt.

With a will to kill and an absurd power to actually accomplish it, Stewie Griffin might be the most formidable toddler on the planet, albeit he’s just a creation of Seth MacFarlane’s “Family Guy”. The son of Peter and Lois Griffin has made his way through space and time (Stewie had built a time machine and traveled back in time to World War II and hilarity and chaos ensued), and has now landed on quite an unlikely yet not utterly surprising partner, the Nike Zoom Lebron VI.

Aside from dining al fresco, and being able to break out sandals and shed the heavy layers, the best part about spring is breaking out the perennial classic trench coat. The trench coat is one of the most versatile and classic sartorial staple, and as Burberry has show in The Art Of The Trench, there are a million ways of wearing the trench coat and it is impossible to go wrong with a classic tan number. This season, in celebration and preparation for the April showers, Burberry has launched a capsule collection of apparel, footwear and accessories in bright colors that will cheer anyone up despite possible rain fall.

There may not be jello, but there is quite an intense cat fight going on in the new HELLZ lookbook video. The HELLZ ladies prove that the streets are tough, and only the strongest and fittest of all will survive. Of course, clad in some gorgeous HELLZ gear from its Spring “Oh Bondage, Up Yours” collection will help one dress the fierce part in tackling the world. Aside from displaying clothes in a more realistic format than 2D prints, the HELLZ ladies aims to bring the idea of representing HELLZ “as a dominant individual taking charge, and standing tall in an industry that involves a heavy dog-eat-dog mentality…” The point is definitely delivered across alongside some vicious action. And the moral of the story? Don’t mess with HELLZ. Enjoy the video!

Saving all the trouble of cuffing the pants, the popular Worker Pants from Stussy’s collaboration with heritage workwear label, Dickies, is going shorter. Perfect to cyclists and summer heat (a little baring makes a whole lot of cooling difference), the shrunken version of the Dickies Worker Pants comes with the same Stussy touches such as a small embroidered logo on the front pocket, and the Stussy’s four cities are printed onto a zipper detail on the back pocket.

visvim is all about exercising the balance of refinery and restrain. While the label’s Native American inspired moccasin sneakers and chukka sneakers convey a more blatant sense of freedom, these new Skagway Denim sneakers are not quite the same. The new Skagway Denim sneakers are set to hit stores this Friday, and with contrasting patches of lace plackets, the off-white denim sneakers bear an uncanny resemblance to the straitjacket. Deliberately distressed and paired with off-white laces, these shoes look worn-in and even well, slightly abused. Feels like something Marin Margiela would have done, since Margiela had taken medical influences into his designs before, these are quite interesting for something as plain and simple as white hi-top sneakers. Bound to attract some interesting glances without having to be ostentatiously colorful, perhaps these will be the new rock-and-roll replacement for the black canvas Chucks. Also, these will be released with matching low-top models for those who like their ankles free.

When the sun is shining so brightly in the sky, chrome and anything metallic just doesn’t seem quite cooling…since metals are good conductors of heat. So, these Incase Chrome Slider Cases come as a surprise as they are tinted ever so light in shades that are just gorgeous for summer when it seems like perforation would be the only way to go… The new Chrome Slider Cases from Incase feature a new hardshell construction that is only 1mm thick but comes with rubber guardrails for shock absorption. They come in three summer happy shades– pink, green and blue. The interior rubber guardrail is dressed in fluro shades that match the metallic exterior. Don’t worry, these cases may look gorgeously shiny, but they are definitely not metallic and will not steam your iPhone silly. Available now online at Incase.

For those who remember visvim when it first started out with sneakers, before the added Native American influences, the Japanese label was very much about simplicity and served up some of the simplest yet clean and sophisticated sneakers, during a time when sneakers were very much about colors and who can cram the most bright colors into one shoe. This season, aside from the loafers and classic mens footwear silhouettes with a casual visvim twist, the trusted sneakers are back and continue to be one of the most well-made kicks there is. The Foley Folk pack from this season dresses the Foley Folk low-top sneaker in a variety of muted shades such as black, dark brown, sandy, burgundy and navy.

Most of us know the Chucks, and even more kick around in the Chucks; but, to bring the focus back the happiest shoe in CONVERSE (haven’t you seen Jack Purcell’s “smile”?), the heritage sports label has enlisted the help of The Selby to re-energize the classic Jack Purcell, which has taken a backseat to the Chuck Taylor in terms of collaborations and well, wear.
Nike SB rider Eric Koston has been releasing great kicks since he moved from Lakai to Nike SB, and thus far, some of the best designs pay homage to Koston’s birth place, Thailand. Previously we had reported on the blue, red and gold Dunk Low set to release this summer, and for those who can’t wait long enough for that release, here is another golden piece (literally and figuratively) from Eric Koston that is also inspired by Thailand, and it is set to release really soon on April 27.

If sneakers are representations of a person, these sneakers say, “I am suave, sophisticated, laid-back, with just that right tad of wildness that you can’t help but want to roll with me”. Since San Francisco’s HUF had announced its debut footwear line to launch this coming Fall, fans of the label’s simple yet eye-catching, energetic styles have been craning their necks and hoarding the web for more information about the footwear line. After introducing the Choice and the HUF 1 Hightop, the label has dropped images of a new pack from the upcoming season, the Snake Pack.
