Hiking goes a long way this year, and the outdoor craze is still heating up in the fashion world, and sneakers continue to get revamped with outdoor and hiking influences. While some attempts to render kicks into hiking boots or vice versa have been rather trite, the new adidas Originals Top Ten High does it quite winningly with a simple tweak in colorway, eyelets, trimming and laces. The new season’s classic Top Ten Hi now looks more like a hiking sneaker than the basketball shoes they were born to be. it now comes in two fall-perfect colorways, Mahogany and Sand. The Sand version features a mix of brown suede, leather and canvas upper, with hiking rope laces and wheat colored trimming on tongue and metal eyelets to complete the tough outdoor look. Meanwhile, the Mahogany colorway is slightly less obvious in the hiking influence, but the deep red shade works nicely with off-white laces and grey trimming. The new tongue tag for the Top Ten Hi are crafted in leather, nodding to the kicks that walked the trails. via: RF

Chicks, speed and kicks? A super hot combination takes a literal turn when the chick is modeling the JS Wings 2.0 Flames from adidas Originals by Originals Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2011 collection. As with all other Jeremy Scott sneakers for his work with adidas ObyO, these “flames” have garnered the attention of sneakerheads and beyond months prior to its release (even though you were able to pre-order it at Opening Ceremony back in October for some instant gratification). The new “Flames” are based on the reformed JS Wings 2.0, where the winged panels have moved from tongue to heel, and now, the wings have been switched out for fiery flames a la Hells Angels. So the new shoot featuring Elisabet Cardenas is only appropriately executed when bikes are involved. via: SDG

Did you know that the sun provides more energy to the earth in one hour than what all nations produce in a year? If that’s the case, should we start doing something about that and tap into a more environmentally friendly energy source? Mercedes-Benz has responded to the possibility of adapting solar power into its production and company, with a new Biome concept car, their entry into the Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge: 1000 pound car competition. The new Biome concept car is not just a sleek and mean machine which seemed to have came back from the future, but it is also designed to run on light technologies from nature.

Do the people influence the city or does the city influence the people? This is a chicken or egg question, but there is no doubt one cannot be without the other. Scorcher takes us through his hometown, Edmonton Green, and shows us the spots mentioned in his music, the places he used to visit when he was a kid. Certainly, there are many cities in the world that have double decker buses, especially those that were a part of the great British Empire like Singapore and Hong Kong. But, the red double decker bus is quite a British icon, and the classic transport gets a facelift today as a new double-decker was unveiled at the London Transport Museum by Brois Johnson, the Mayor of London.
The new double-decker is updated to a 21st century relevance without losing the original Routemaster touch and charm. The new bus is manufactured by Wrightbus, and features an open platform in the back which marks the return of the classic “hop-on-hop-off” service.
