
Kanye West has lauded her as “The scariest artist on the planet right now”, and Jay-Z concurred that “She’s got that swag”, and some, has deemed her hip hop’s very own Lady Gaga. That’s right, we are talking about the latest explosive sensation in hip-hop right now, Nicki Minaj. The Queens-bred artist will be releasing her upcoming album, “Pink Friday”, on November 22, and as a part of the promotional activities for what is to be a winning album to come, a trailer has been created for the occasion. In celebration of the new snowboarding season and also the release of the highly anticipated TRON: Legacy (set to hit theaters on December 17), Burton had designed a pair of TRON: Legacy inspired sci-fi dressed boots. The silhouette of choice for this creation is the Burton Raptor, which is the lightest men’s boots Burton has ever created, packed with the Speed Zone lacing system and the Imprint liner. In terms of design, the boots are meant to be retro-futuristic, which is thinking about the future through the eyes of a snowboarder circa 1982. Check the patent black panels with rainbow grids, the orange pipe-lines and TRON blue stitching and accents throughout.

Brace yourself for the shredding season with art in your game with DROP, and the third installment of its DPI (DROP Pure Inspiration) series. This season, DROP has teamed up with artists Andy Jenkins and Big Foot (who had previously collaborated with The North Face on a series of apparel and accessories). The new collection comes in the form of limited edition ESPI goggles and 1080 P Pipe Park gloves, and each artist had dressed the items in their custom, signature graphics. Big Foot had incorporated his iconic creature and forest on the goggle band, and Jenkins had taken a liberally playful route with a cartoon man representative of figure illustrations he had done for The Skateboard Mag.

The meeting of two New Yorkers in New York results in a solution for those who commute by bicycles, and are unwilling to put their wheels in storage just because the weather is getting colder. Chari & Co. had teamed up with New York designer, Steven Alan, to create a fleece jacket designed specially for the road warriors. The new fleece jacket is created based on Alan’s classic Funnel Neck Sweatshirt, but crafted from a special Polar Fleece that is breathable, quick-drying, durable, and of course, warm. The sweater comes in two shades, grey and blue, and are currently available at Chari & Co. Oh, and did we mention, these are made with New York pride, right here in New York?

Japan’s Deluxe teamed up with VANS to bring a little bit of opulence to something decidedly street. The new collaborative mid-top VANS Chukkah discards the outdoor vibe associated with the Chukkah and updated it to an urban luxe with a glossy black reptilian leather upper. However, in keeping things casual and nonchalant, soles and toe caps are kept crisp in white. To cap off the shoes with the vibrancy Japanese streetwear aesthetics offer, a red leather heel tape climbs down the back. Probably the biggest man in hip-hop at the moment, mogul/entrepreneur/rapper/industry dictator, Jay-Z has returned to what brought him his cult of believers, his music through the years, and will be releasing a reprisal compilation, “The Hits Collection: Volume One”. Along with the release of the new album, Jigga had also debuted a new website for the collection today. The new website divides Jay-Z’s career into four periods, “The Beginning”, “Marcy To Madison Square”, “Corporate Takeover” and “I Run The Map”. The first portion of “The Hits Collection” are all available for order now, and will ship out on November 18. The adidas Originals Superstar is quite a challenging silhouette for collaboration, but its classic shape and retro-styling made them one of the perennial favorites of sneakerheads. While collaborations in the past, such as the ones with Kazuki Kuraishi for adidas Originals by Originals kzk has rendered the Superstar to a new level of contemporary cool in sleek black shades and kzk’s signature heel tape, the collaboration with NBA brings the shoes back to its basketball roots and lends a the shoes a nostalgic vintage vibe orthodox sneakerheads might have missed.

Gourmet brightens up in spring by lightening up for the upcoming season with some nautical palettes. One of the classic patterns in the world of street wear, is the Alienegra camouflage print created by CLOT and Madsaki. The popular print has not only become a representative signature of CLOT, but is also recognizable by many, putting the Hong Kong creative collection on the map. This year, as a part of a pop-up and collaborative venture, Man Is In The Forest, by Disney and CLOT, CLOT has roped in Madsaki again to dress Mickey Mouse in the new Alienegra print. The pattern was previously previewed, and now we finally know what the prints are used for.
