One of the sickest brands out there today, Black Scale is continuing their great tradition of solid drops and clean designs with its Season VI lookbook. Black Scale’s great graphic tees are definitely represented well in this collection, with some of the cleanest designs out there in the signature aesthetically dark imagery that defines Black Scale’s overall look. The rest of the collection includes some nice fitted caps, as well as a few choice pieces of outerwear. This lookbook is definitely a good preview of the clean things to come from Black Scale this year, and for anyone looking for a solid, quality series of drops this year, this is definitely the brand to watch. For anyone interested in the creation of this lookbook, niq and his crew from gRg shot a great teaser video with a few choice interviews from the team behind the lookbook; look for the video below. Credits for the photos in the lookbook go to Sean Lyles and Timothy Mar. Big thanks to Mega for the info and Tonytone for the heads up.

Just in time for the upcoming All-Star Game weekend, Black Scale and Arizona’s High Point are releasing a nice clean set of tees in four very basic, very clean colorways. Combining elements from the design philosophies of both groups, these tees are loud without being flashy; their bold design should turn more than a few appreciative heads. As a major emerging brand, Black Scale’s been doing great things this year, and this latest collab with High Point is one of their best drops yet. Along with being one of the best however, this will be one of the most limited at just 150 total pieces, so don’t sleep on these! If you’re not in the Arizona area when these drop on the 14th, don’t worry, High Point will also be taking phone orders, as well as having the tees on their online store here. 2009 is just getting started, and this drop is definitely a nice way to start off the year! Big thanks to Tonytone and Grind Time for the heads up; via: Black Scale and High Point.

Streetwear company Bobby Fresh has teamed with GrindTime music to produce this sick shirt, with a very unique front logo. With a zippered-shut mouth, monochromatic and yet bold colorway, and elements of the heritages of both Bobby Fresh and GrindTime, this shirt is a pretty clean effort on behalf of both parties involved. Definitely a piece that will attract some attention, this shirt comes in limited quantities, so don’t sleep when it drops on February 1st on the Bobby Fresh website; this piece has the best of both its musical and fashion roots, and is a definite cop for anyone looking for a well designed, cleanly executed tee. Moving right along with Diamond Supply Co.’s latest series of solid drops, this Harassment shirt depicts a line of men having a bit of trouble with the law. This release definitely makes a pretty strong social point, and in the process creates a pretty sick image for the front of a tee. Nick from Diamond Supply spent a long time hunting down the right printer to create the graphics for these tees, and it definitely shows: the quality on these shirts is definitely top notch. Dropping this Saturday at Diamond’s flagship store and Thursday online at Diamond’s online shop here, don’t sleep on this, as only 1000 of these shirts will be produced. Big thanks again to Tonytone for the heads up, and Nick from Diamond for the info.

New from Black Scale’s 09 apparel collection is this sick drop of a thermal hoodie and a nice fitted logo cap. Guaranteed to keep you warm while looking good, the thermal is a pretty clean piece, doing away with complicated designs and motifs in favor of a cleaner overall aesthetic. The crossed swords logo on the back is a pretty sick logo, and the front “B” logo links the hoodie to the cap, giving the drop a more consolidated feel. Itself another pretty clean piece of gear, the fitted cap comes in both black and red colorways, and has the Black Scale name on the back in a nice clean font. The overall look of this drop is definitely focused on creating a simple, pure look, and speaks well for many more drops to come in the future! The thermal is out now at the Black Scale online store, and the hat will be dropping as part of the Spring 09 collection. Thanks to Tonytone for the heads up; via: the Black Scale blog.

Black Scale and Major have come together for this sick collaboration project, consisting of a tee, a crewneck, and a fitted. Blending the best of both coasts, this project shows the best of both companies’ design philosophy; the darker aesthetic of Black Scale combines nicely with the signature Major logo for a clean look. This release coincides with Black Scale’s Season V collection, of which the Major collaboration is only one facet of; the rest of the series definitely lives up to the standard set by the Major collab. The Major x Black Scale fitted drops on December 17th for Major’s 2 year anniversary at Major, while the rest of the collection will be dropping soon at select retailers. Now open in Japan’s Isetan department store, the “Art Convenience Store” carries some incredibly hard to find items. Previewed by Japanese music industry personality Verbal in his blog here, the store carries a number of rare items including Verbal’s custom line of jewelery under the AMBUSH brand name, which includes pendants and rings with his signature POW!, as well as his new “BEEEEETHOVEN” rings and pendants. While maybe a little on the flashy side, jewelry is hardly the only thing stocked in the store; items from Mastermind Japan, visvim, Undercover, Hysteric Glamour, and other major names in Japanese streetwear all share shelf space in the same area! However, this space seems to be a very, very, very limited time deal- it is only scheduled to be open from September 3rd to the 9th, so if you’re in Japan, do yourself a favor and swing by Isetan to check it out! Mos Def (whose real name is Dante Terrell Smith) is definitely a driving force in the entertainment industry. From record deals to television appearances, a talent that does it all. Now, he’s taking his first steps into the fashion industry. Long known for his love of urban style, Mos Def recently partnered with UNDRCRWN of Philadelphia for a new collection by the label’s creative director, Dustin Canalin. The aim behind the new project is to create a line with solid designs. Furthermore, it can operate independently from Mos Def’s celebrity, establishing a name for itself as a stand-alone label. While maybe not as prolific as Kanye West’s own Pastelle, this new project from UNDRCRWN and Mos Def has already garnered much attention within the street wear/urban lifestyle industry. Expect this collection to become one of the most coveted this year when it drops on August 26th at the Palms Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas. To learn more, read men’s fashion trade paper, DNR‘s report on it.

The Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing is most likely the single most iconic image of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, with its unique architecture providing the backdrop for the epic opening ceremony this year, as well as hosting a number of other athletic competitions. Nike commissioned a number of artists to do a series based upon their products and the Olympics this year, and this piece works the Bird’s Nest into an Air Force 1-centric design nicely. With black Bird’s Nest inspired Air Force 1′s dominating the image, and a number of other Bird’s Nest related pieces of imagery, this nice piece of art definitely captures the spirit of Nike’s involvement with the Olympic Games well! This particular piece was created in commemoration of Nike’s UK launch of Nike Sportswear, and created by ilovedust.

The Alife Sessions at Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C.) in New York City have attracted number of famous artists, among them the Grammy-winning Three-6-Mafia and Aux Raus, who performed at the Session on July 19th. In commemoration of said event, Alife and Casio collborated on a special edition G-Shock 5600 commemorating the event. In addition to the watch, a special edition Alife tee and lighter have been created, all in a primarily black and white colorway, with the number “666″ representing the Three-6-Mafia, with some fire behind the numbers on the tee, lending it that extra-devilish look. Look for the G-Shock to drop exclusively at Alife NYC this Saturday, with a limited production run of just 100 pieces. The tee and the lighter will be available this Saturday as well, at Alife LA, NYC, and Vancouver. For a behind the scenes look at the Three-6-Mafia Session, Visit The Upset at AlifeNYC.com.

New from Incase and legendary skater Paul Rodriguez is this great three bag selection designed for skateboarders in need of the best set of travel bags out there. Incase has always been known for the high build quality of its gear, and this collaboration with Paul Rodriguez definitely lives up to the Incase name, delivering both tough, resilient bags meant for travel, while not sacrificing style in the least. Comprised of a skate pack, skate bag, and overnite bag, the lineup of the Paul Rodriguez collection was designed with the needs of the traveling skateboarder in mind. All three bags are constructed out of 1680D ballistic polyester, ensuring that they’ll survive the toughest conditions on the road, while keeping their owner’s posessions intact. The skate bag is particularly impressive, with a pocket large enough to hold a completely set-up board, with smaller pockets to hold extra trucks, wheels, and other accessories, all with room to spare. Each of the bags comes with P-Rod’s signature dot pattern on the lining, giving these bags a unique visual flair. The Paul Rodriguez collection will be available October 2008, with a special section on the Incase website launching here on September 1st.
