Each year Ray-Ban releases a specially designed Rare Prints Wayfarer collection featuring graphics by various talented artists and designers. This year an independent design studio, La Boca, was selected to take on the task of coming up with the graphics for the iconic sunglasses. As La Boca specializes in designs that reference 80′s retro styles, the four versions are inspired by the color combination from that era. All of these frames are currently available at Ray-Ban stockists around the world and on the Ray-Ban online shop. Check out more detailed photos after the jump.

Before the influx of customization programs, skaters had to improvised on their own. This meant peel-apart, cutting-up, and tape-down, all to get the desirable fit. So in the tradition of skaters and the 20th anniversary of the VANS Half Cab skate shoes, VANS will drop an exclusive Half Cab each month of this year. To get things started, VANS went back to the origin of it all with skater Steve Caballero. Along with retailer Supreme, a set of 20 exclusive VANS Half Cab High will be hand-cut and duct-taped Caballero himself, just like how it was 20 years ago. Each individually numbered and signed by Caballero as well, the Supreme x VANS Half Cab – 20th Anniversary Edition will be available at Supreme locations exclusively.

Melbourne-based Sekure D, the celebrated sneaker artist whose work has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria, has gotten together with Globe for a third time. The two are revisiting their very first collaboration by releasing another Mace Hi, though this latest iteration is built with a shock-absorbing Nitrocel midsole. The back portion of the shoe is adorned with the artist’s trademark Carnage and Graffiti designs in grey and black, while the artist’s signature graces the tongue and his familiar Robot Arm print makes an appearance on the insole. The neutral shades dominating the shoe are broken up with a shock of orange at the heel, lining and air bags. The sneaker is avaiable now in limited quantities through Sekure D’s online store. via: Sneaker Freaker

In an effort to bring together both cultural relevancy and design of sneakers, Nike created “White Dunk” exhibit in 2004 where an exclusive selection of Japanese artists freely reinterpreted the Nike Dunk into otherworldly creation of art. Fast forward 8 years later, the “White Dunk” project now gives way to the Nike Shoeshine Project 2012 for Nike Snowboarding. But similar to its predecessor, the premise of the Nike Shoeshine Project is also to bridge the cultural relativity and sneakers, or in this case, snowboarding boots. Just as in the golden creation done by Osamu Koyama and his firm Complete Technique, artist Marcus Tremonto fashioned his through the craft of light and optical illusion. Founder of creative studio TRELUCE in New York City, Tremonto approached his pair of Nike Zoom Force 1 with a futuristic perception of sports. Influenced by Gundam, James Bond, and sci-fi, Tremonto retraced the concept of speed and strength with “Box Boot” and “Rocket Boot”. On first glance, the two cartoonish designs appear to be clever post-production illustration on photo. However, the pieces are quite real, each handmade with custom graphics on electroluminescent paper. Part of the Nike Shoeshine Project 2012, a traveling art exhibition that will visit Munich, Germany in the coming months.

Sure, we can delineate the core principles of function, style, quality and innovation that make up the Lexdray mission statement, but it’s even more elemental than that: the brand represents the vision of one man, Alex Drayer, who’s the founder, designer and creative director of the company. A frequent traveler, Alex surveyed his personal collection of luggage and bags and found them wanting, so he took bits and pieces of what he did like from the gear he used and started Lexdray. He’s since teamed up with the Wendel production company to present video overviews of pieces from Lexdray’s Classified Collection, the latest featuring the Aspen Soft Case. The water resistant accessories pouch is lined with soft micro-fleece and can store any variety of valuables, from glasses to an expensive timepiece. Learn more about it by viewing the video after the click, then head over to Lexdray’s online store to buy.

French automaker Citroen has gotten together with Lacoste on a concept car that takes its main inspiration from the French clothier’s origins as a sportswear label. Consequently, wheels are built to resemble tennis balls, the dashboard fascia is reminiscent of a tennis net, and the upholstery fabric is the same type of pique cotton used on Lacoste tennis shirts. The sporty outdoors aesthetic is reinforced by the subtraction of doors and a roof (though there’s an inflatable cover in the event of rain) and the addition of a retractable rear bench. Power comes courtesy of a 3-cylinder gasoline engine, though the point is somewhat academic as the vehicle isn’t expected to enter production. Rather, the enterprise is about the expression of fun and an adventurous spirit. Click through for more looks, as well as a video interview with car designer Celine Venet. via: Pocket-Lint

Such is the circle of fortune. Just days after Peugeot‘s announcement of its exit from the Le Mans racing circuit, citing the racing program’ financial constraints as the cause, Toyota made a public statement today about the company’s entry to this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. To take part in the Le Mans Prototype 1 class will be two Toyota TS030 HYBRID. Developed by Toyota Racing, the TS030 will be the Japanese car maker’s third entry into the grueling endurance race, after its appearances with TS010 and TS020 back in the 1990s. But what will make the TS030 unique is its hybrid powerplant, the first in Le Mans. Featuring a new V8 3.4-litre engine pairing off with a “recovery system” capable of reclaiming energy when the vehicle brakes. Both TS030 HYBRID will debut on May 5th as Toyota participate in the 6-Hour of Spa-Francorchamps

The best way for a customer to appraise a product is to pick it up and handle it with his or her own hands. Previously, the next best thing was photographic images of the piece. It’s a concept that’s rendered a little lower in the pecking order compared to what Lexdray has done in teaming up with Los Angeles based production company Wendel. Their brief to-the-point videos explore and highlight the features of each bag in Lexdray’s Classified Collection. This one for the Stockholm Brief shows off the model’s fleece-lined laptop pocket, military grade hardware, proprietary snap pocket system and a host of other premium features. Check it out after the click, then find the Stockhom Brief at Lexray’s online store when you’re ready to purchase.

While he is very much a fictional character, James Bond, her majesty’s trusted secret agent, is never the less a brand ambassador for OMEGA. In honor of Bond’s first film appearance in Dr. No (1962) 50 years ago, the luxury timepiece maker designed a special OMEGA Seamaster Professional for the occasion. In sizes 41mm (for men) and 36mm (for women), the James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Watch is a reinterpretation of the classic OMEGA Seamaster diver’s watch. Special alterations include repetitive 007 monograms engraved on the lacquered black dial and the red “50″ dive marker on its ceramic bezel, James Bond 007 50th Anniversary Seamaster also features a case back in the form of a gun barrel, a reference to Bond’s signature Walther PPK pistol. At the center, a small sapphire crystal encased a bullet-like decor with the imprints “James Bond 50 Years”. For a touch femininity, the 36mm version will include a diamond stud as the 7 o’clock marker. Limited to 11,007 units for the 41mm model and 3,007 units for the 36mm model, both will be available soon at OMEGA dealers worldwide. Meanwhile, you can catch James Bond in action this winter on latest film installment, Skyfall.
