atmos x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

The contribution from the good people at atmos for Reebok‘s 25th Anniversary Workout series is a fairly high-concept one: they gave the shoe a stark white colorway, meant to resemble an eggshell, as the Workout is undergoing a second birth as a lifestyle fashion sneaker. They also finished the shoe’s exterior with glow in the dark properties, inspired by the “mystical feelings” that coincide with the witnessing of a new life. It’s a nice thought, especially when there’s mention of the Workout “glowing on a new stage,” but we’re also pretty sure the guys at just really like making sneakers glow in the dark. Beatnic x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

The crew at Beatnic, located in the heart of downtown Fullerton in Southern California, took a unique approach in tackling the Workout 25th Anniversary project. Their design took inspiration from another iconic style, the OG colorway of the Insta Pump Fury, and in fusing the two models they created a shoe that blended a traditional silhouette with one that broke new ground, while applying vivid hues to a sneaker typically finished with subdued, tonal colors. When the guys’ proposal to add a Pump function to the shoe ultimately fell through, they added weld dots along the toe and heel to give the impression of added air. Barbour x Triumph Speed Twin Concept | By Roy Norton & Tom Kasher

Designers Roy Norton and Tom Kasher were dreaming up a Triumph Motorcyle concept that blended a retro theme with modern elements while they were still in university. Once the two landed positions at motorcycle design studio Xenophya following graduation, they reached out to Product Manager Simon Warburton, who liked the pitch he heard. He subsequently drafted a brief requesting “a bike based around our 865cc air-cooled parallel twin, styled to appeal to younger riders.” The guys took inspiration from cafe racers, bobbers and past bike models and crafted a Speed Twin Concept with the base of a Bonneville, restyled and now featuring girder forks for a retro feel. Barbour cloth was used on the seat fabric and grips for an added dose of style, while the filler cap and instruments were also redesigned. The resulting motorcycle seen here was created using a combination of model board, foam and automotive styling clay. It has since been successfully remade into a full-scale model with Firestone tires, inverted levers and Thruxton brakes, ensuring that future designs by Roy and Tom are more than likely to reach the production stage. Marni for H&M – Commercial | Directed By Sofia Coppola

Marni‘s collaboration with H&M doesn’t release until March but a new commercial for the collection, directed by Sofia Coppola, gives viewers a taste of what’s to come. Shot in Marrakesh, Morocco, and set to the dulcet tones of Roxy Music’s “Avalon,” the clip follows British actress Imogen Poots as she traipses around the sun-drenched landscape while showing off pieces from the collection, all of which are dressed in ’s signature bold prints.
