Levi’s Japan is setting up a brand new pop-up shop, entitled The Patch Customize Pop-Up Shop. This concept is realized by partnering with Harris Tweed and this service is available for each customer who purchases men’s or women’s jeans, shirts or jackets from participating Levi’s stores in Japan. There are options to customize back pockets, elbow patches and knee patches with Harris Tweed materials, but be quick as this service is only available from now until Sunday, December 25th. Customization will take around couple of weeks and the finished product will be returned in an originally designed cotton bag with a graphic that reads, Time To Share. Participating stores include Levi’s Store in Shibuya, Harajuku, Ueno, Kawasaki, Nagoya, Kobe Umeda, Kyoto and Fukuoka. via: hayabusa.bz

Canada’s HAVEN announces its second ever delivery of WTAPS apparel and accessories. From the brand’s Fall/Winter 2011 “Way of Life” collection comes a capsule filled with superior quality essentials and basics. SWAGGER had been busy recently implementing collaboration projects and the latest partnership comes courtesy of Lee. The capsule collection is entitled The Number, which takes inspiration from vintage Lee jackets and jeans. These items can be worn as a set up or on their own. Each piece is packed with details that would make any vintage denim fans excited. Around the mid 1940′s Lee developed this 101 J jacket to cater for cowboys and rodeo riders. Furthermore, this particular brass colored, button top design is taken from post 1946 vintage pieces and this iconic jacket was seen on Steve McQueen as well. The 101 B jeans is made using selvedge denim and it is detailed by the same accents as the jacket. Both pieces are currently available at SWAGGER dealers and stores in Japan.

Come March 16th of next year, UNIQLO‘s new Ginza flagship store in Tokyo will quietly dethrone the just opened 5th Avenue store as the retail chain largest storefront. Part of the ongoing restoration to revive the historical Ginza Komatsu Department Store, UNIQLO Ginza will occupy an entire wing of the complex, from ground floor to building’s top at 12th floor. According to the initial schematic, each floor comes in around 1,500 square meters, or 16,146 square footage of retail space. Multiple that by 12 and you will have roughly 193,752 square footage of prime real estate. To put the scale into perspective, the UNIQLO 5th Avenue Flagship in New York City, currently its largest, has around 89,000 square feet of space only.

The jet-setter bunch in Miami has a new shopping destination this coming holiday season. Introducing UNKNWN, a lifestyle boutique curated by LeBron James. Catering to the fine-living demographic of Miami and surrounding areas, the new store will be within the trendy Aventura Mall on Biscayne Boulevard. Scheduled for opening on Friday, December 16th, the store will carry items from DRx Romanelli, Engineered Garments, Stussy, OriginalFake, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and a far flung assortment of top brands. Needless to say, there will also be store exclusive editions as well as special collaborations with King James himself.

New York’s Atrium has joined forces with Nudie Jeans on a special edition of the Swedish brand’s Grim Tim jean that they’re calling the “Big Apple Dry Organic.” Made in Italy, they’re crafted with dark organic denim and fashioned in the popular Grim Tim silhouette — a straight slim cut with standard rise and button fly. Traditional five-pocket styling is accented with Nudie’s trademark orange stitching except at the back pockets, where the ornate stitch design is colored apple green as a tribute to the Big Apple. Brandon Svarc, owner and designer of premium denim brand Naked & Famous Denim, took some time out of his busy schedule to visit GQ and show off “The Craziest Jeans in the World.” First up is the heaviest pair of jeans ever created, made from Japanese selvedge denim and weighing in at a hefty 32oz. Even the leather patch is heavyweight at 15oz. There’s raspberry scented scratch-n-sniff denim, blanket-lined jeans, a collaboration with Japanese brand Oni featuring its signature super-slubby denim, and finally, a glow-in-the-dark pair of 15oz selvedge denim jeans.
